Sheena Laza af Lyn - Knabstrupper, mare, 14 years old, leopard-piebald - On behalf of the breeder: Sheena Laza af Lyn is a sport-oriented, purebred Knabstrupper mare with valuable Warmblood influence. On her sire’s side, she descends from “Upal von Norholm,” who was licensed in Aachen (HB1) and was the champion stallion in 2001. Upal has received top honors from various associations. He was licensed as an elite stallion in Shoc, and in the Danish Knabstrupper Breeders’ Association, he was named Best Stallion and awarded BEST STALLION IN SHOW with the rare overall score of 8. Upal is now considered one of the best Knabstrupper stallions in the world. He is the only Knabstrupper stallion worldwide to have passed the 70-day test against Warmblood stallions with flying colors. On her dam’s side, her lines trace back to “Nightlady,” who was the champion mare at the 2007 KNN licensing with an overall score of 8.
On May 12, 2026, Sheena gave birth to a healthy colt by “Spotilas.” Her foal, “Total Secret Spot,” is listed for sale in a separate ad and will be weaned no earlier than mid-November 2026.
Sheena’s true treasure is not “Upal von Norholm” or “Ramiro Z,” but her dam “Nightlady” and the “Hallundbaek family” behind her. This is exactly the kind of dam line that successful breeders have been able to maintain for decades because it reliably passes on type, character, and quality. Her dam line includes: “Nightlady,” “Gandalf af Hallundbaek,” “Rasmus af Hallundbaek,” “Rasmus af Damgaard,” “Vibeke af Hallundbaek,” and “Flicka.” This is a very cohesive Knabstrupper family built up over generations.
The following ancestors are particularly interesting: “Rasmus af Hallundbaek,” “Rasmus af Damgaard,” “Vibeke af Hallundbaek,” and “Flicka.” These names appear repeatedly in successful Danish Knabstrupper lines, indicating a stable maternal lineage.
What makes Sheena even more valuable is her paternal dam line: “Abelone af Gram,” “Royal Blue,” and “Ramiro Z.” As a result, Sheena not only has a strong Knabstrupper maternal family but also genuine sport horse blood. This makes her more interesting for breeding than many pure Knabstrupper mares. She has full SEGES papers and is currently registered in the mare book, Section E.
In our eyes, she is a true breeding gem!
Upon request, she can be inseminated for 2027 at the buyer’s expense. Until her foal is weaned, she will remain in a broodmare herd. Of course, she has been regularly dewormed, vaccinated, and seen by the farrier.
