Icelandic colt, gray-dappled with markings - Leysir was born in June and has been growing up well socialized in the herd with his mother ever since. He is a gray-chestnut with a laced blesse and white hind pasterns; he also has blue crescents in both eyes. He has the potential for five gaits and displays very good basic gaits as well as plenty of tölt. His final height is expected to be around 140 Stm. He is tame, accustomed to human interaction, and trusts people. He is regularly dewormed, receives mineral supplements, and has his hooves trimmed regularly. He could be weaned and move to a new home in December at the earliest. He has full papers, which are currently still being issued by the association. Unfortunately, due to his growth and current circumstances (he has been on a hay-only diet for months because of the drought and consequently lacks hindquarter muscle tone), his kneecaps sometimes sag. He is therefore being offered at a reduced price to suitable owners—preferably to a home where he will need to move around a lot so that his hindquarter muscles can develop. I actually expect the problem to resolve itself as he grows, but unfortunately I cannot guarantee this. Therefore, his price is negotiable if a suitable home is found. You’re welcome to come see him and get to know him.
