7-year-old Polish Warmblood gelding - Young Polish sport horse, trained in dressage; currently cannot be ridden due to an injury, so a test ride is not possible. However, according to the veterinarian, he should be rideable again and must therefore be gradually brought back into training once the inflamed joint has healed. He is not a competition horse and will not become one.
He has some weakness in his hindquarters, which can be rebuilt later with groundwork.
Unfortunately, he has little experience in the countryside and is therefore usually tense and skittish around tractors, for example. He is kept in an open stable, gets along well with the other horses, and tends to be low in the pecking order. X-rays of the affected leg are available, as is the medication history; he is currently on 1 tablet daily, plus he receives Nerv Kontrol from Pavo or, at the very least, magnesium. Otherwise, there are no special dietary requirements.
He needs to be taped, and the joint must be cooled daily. For stabilization, he wears a leg wrap on one hind leg. It remains to be seen how long the healing phase will last; it could possibly take another half a year.
