Zilco Flower Hackamore with shank - SOLD WITHOUT HEADSTALL!
Flower Hackamore
black
Made from plastic and stainless steel
One size fits all
This flower hackamore from the Zilco brand works via pressure points on the head, nose and chin. The unique design of this model allows multiple adjustments to increase or decrease the pressure.

This hackamore is a bitless bridle with a padded, contoured PVC waffle nosepiece and synthetic chin strap.

The Zilco Flower Hackamore is highly adjustable and allows many variations of attachment to fully customize it to your horse.

Standard use
Leave a circle open between the noseband, rein strap and headpiece attachment. The chin strap is attached between the reins and the headpiece. For the standard rein attachment, attach the reins to the longer circle rings. This creates a very gentle leverage effect by turning the wheel slightly when pressure is applied to the reins.

Sidepull application
With the sidepull attachment, the reins are attached above the chin strap. The rein pressure then creates a simple direct sidepull effect. Make sure that the metal ring is not pulled up against the face or rubs against the cheekbone.

The cheek pieces must be shorter than when using a standard bit. Zilco has a hackamore bridle in its range that is suitable for use with the Flower Hackamore.

The Flower should be well positioned at the open part of the horse's face, just in front of the cheekbones. Adjust the noseband and chin strap so that they are very tight, but not too tight. The horse should be able to chew.

The metal should not be higher than 1 finger from the cheekbone. 1 finger should fit under the noseband and 2 fingers under the chin strap.

Make sure that the noseband sits fairly high on the nose and not too low (there are sensitive bones directly above the nostrils).

It is very important that the straps are tight and not too loose. It may look like it's loose, but you risk friction - or worse, the whole metal part can be knocked over by the rein pressure. To the seller's offerlaunch
