Ready for the latest standard in horse-friendly bits? The innovative Novocontact bits feature a unique oval shape. This allows the bits to rest on the horse’s tongue with a wide surface area as long as light contact is maintained. Only when the rider applies increased pressure through the reins does the mouthpiece rotate forward. This momentarily reduces the contact area on the tongue. As a result, the signal is conveyed particularly clearly to the horse, and the rider is able to provide effective aids. In this way, novocontact bits support optimal communication and pave the way for improved contact between horse and rider.

Thanks to the modern novocontact geometry, this double-jointed model is a good choice for horses that occasionally become strong but are too sensitive for more strongly acting bits. In our practical tests as well, these horses responded positively to the bit. It fits ergonomically in the horse’s mouth, has a large contact area on the tongue, and thus supports a gentle yet clear influence.

This Pelham allows for precise and effective aid application that acts on the entire width of the tongue, the poll, and the lower jaw. Depending on how it’s laced, the leverage on the poll can be adjusted as desired. This gives you the ability to tailor your approach to your horse’s individual needs.

The bit is often used in combination with Pelham straps. For riders and horses with a higher level of training, using two pairs of reins is recommended: this allows the leverage to be applied as sensitively as possible. The Pelham is used in conjunction with a curb chain. If this chain allows for an angle of up to 45° between the lower rein and the mouth opening, it effectively limits the pressure on the neck.

Sensogan
An alloy of copper, manganese, and zinc. Manganese hardens the copper without affecting its natural oxidation process. Thanks to the manganese, the alloy requires a lower copper content but achieves oxidation behavior equivalent to that of AURIGAN.
