Shetland pony - Not a toy for a child!
My daughter has been coming to the stable regularly for two years now and is totally crazy about horses.
A pony her size would be a dream come true for her.
We’re looking for a respectful environment where she can groom the pony, go on guided rides, and take it for walks.
She’s very gentle with the horses, and even one of the ponies at the stable—which usually doesn’t like kids—is super sweet to her.
Even if my daughter were to lose interest or the pony were to get old, the pony would stay.
We’re therefore looking for a pony that loves children.
Older is fine.
It should be fence-secure.
A tendency toward laminitis is not a problem, nor are any health limitations typically associated with commercial stock.
Experience with laminitis and hay dust allergies is available.
Many years of experience with horses.
No foals or untrained ponies.
No stallions.
Must be fence-safe (including electric fences) and get along with other horses.
Offering a permanent home in an open stable, good hay, and suitable summer pasture.
Winter paddock (for muddy conditions) and dry exercise area.
