Sensible Cruzado mare - I am selling my 12 year old ( 10.10.2013) mare from Spain. She is an incredibly sweet and nice horse. Loves to be groomed, doesn't bite, doesn't run you over and generally always wants to do everything right. Nevertheless, she is a very sensitive horse who likes to be handled calmly. Very people-oriented if she can trust her handler.
She is also sensitive when ridden and has a lot of go. She often gets hot quickly and needs a consistent, calm rider otherwise she will quickly become stressed. She should always be kept busy during her daily work. If you do the same thing 2-3 times, she quickly takes over your decisions. I would therefore like to find someone who, ideally, already has experience with Spanish horses. Due to time constraints, I haven't done much riding with her yet. I have usually been out and about a lot. Or worked with her from the ground.
She was ridden twice a week until the beginning of March. Unfortunately, she's currently on a break. Because I'm only ever on site for a short time due to time constraints. That's also the reason why I want to sell her now. Unfortunately, nothing will change for me over the next few months/years. Plan B will otherwise be that I will "retire" her if I can't find anyone suitable.
In the herd she doesn't let anyone take the butter off her bread and is quickly food envious. If possible, she needs a lot of space and a small, quiet herd. She is very easy to feed and grazing should be severely restricted. No deer or similar present. Shod at the front, shod at the back in summer as required.
Due to the lack of training, only limited test riding possible.
She is vaccinated (West Nile virus, influenza & tetanus), has had her teeth done regularly and has never been sick or lame with me.
In summer she needs a fly rug because she gets stressed quickly when the flies are bothering her. In winter she has always been covered up. She doesn't suffer from eczema but has lost part of her mane due to the winter rug. But it always grows back in the summer.
