🐴 Max, a Quarter Horse gelding – a recreational companion looking for a forever home 🤎
It is with a heavy heart that I am looking for a loving and permanent home for my Quarter Horse gelding Max, born in May 2012 and standing approximately 1.46–1.47 m tall.
Max is a well-trained Western and recreational horse. He has beautiful, smooth gaits and genuinely enjoys working with his handler. He feels comfortable in the arena and, with clear, fair guidance, is attentive, motivated, and eager to learn.
Personality and Requirements Max needs a calm, confident, and experienced handler who can provide him with reliable guidance and treat him consistently yet fairly.
He does not buck or rear. Nevertheless, his new home should have experience handling sensitive horses and be willing to continue building trust, security, and a reliable partnership. Anyone who approaches Max with calm, clarity, and understanding will gain an attentive recreational partner who enjoys working together with his human.
Medical History and Current Status
About a year ago, a lesion was detected in Max’s pastern. The injury has healed very well. The healing process was repeatedly monitored via ultrasound. As of August 2026, the treating veterinarian gave the green light for riding and further training and rehabilitation.
Since August, Max has been back in a regular and continuous training program. He has shown no setbacks and continues to make steady progress. The veterinary reports, as well as a summary of the examinations and treatment, can of course be reviewed and discussed in detail for those seriously interested.
Housing and Previous Experience
Max is stabled in an open barn, is barefoot, and is regularly cared for by a farrier. His teeth are regularly checked and trimmed.
When out on the trail, Max has primarily experienced group rides so far. He behaves well and is confident. In his new home, he would need to gradually reacclimate to riding alone with the guidance of an experienced partner, though walking on his own is not a problem.
What We’re Looking for in His New Home
Max should go to someone who truly understands him, gives him a sense of security, and will be reliably there for him in the long term. He is a special horse with great potential for a trusting partnership—provided he is treated with calm, clarity, and compassion.
