Joey – a sensitive Paint gelding is looking for the right person - Joey is a 7-year-old, strikingly handsome Paint gelding with a lot of expression and a sensitive, attentive nature. Therefore, he is not a horse for beginners.
He is not a horse that simply “works”; rather, he is one that needs trust and calm, confident guidance. Once Joey has developed trust in his handler, he becomes an attentive, eager-to-learn partner who enjoys working with his handler and has plenty of potential for further training.
Joey has been ridden in the Western style and is exclusively at home in a recreational setting. He is not intended to become a competition horse.
He particularly enjoys groundwork and free work. He is curious and takes pleasure in learning new things and solving tasks together with his handler.
Due to his sensitivity and skittishness, I’m looking for someone with horse experience—someone calm and consistent—who can make him feel secure and won’t try to resolve his insecurity with pressure. A patient approach and clear, fair leadership are especially important for him.
Cross-country riding would need to be refreshed after a break and built up step by step. However, with the right person, I see this as an absolutely achievable goal.
Joey tested positive for MIM/PSSM2. With appropriate feeding and blanket management, this can be easily accommodated in his daily routine. That’s why I’d like him to continue living in a suitable open stable where his needs are taken into account.
I’m looking for someone who’s a truly good match for Joey. Anyone who appreciates a sensitive horse, enjoys working together, and is willing to earn his trust will find Joey to be a wonderful leisure partner.
