This course covers a wide range of topics relating to horses and includes course materials to take home. The topics will be discussed in detail on the course days. A sound theoretical and practical basis for the responsible handling of horses is taught. The aim is to create a solid understanding of the anatomy, health, behavior and husbandry of horses. Horses are complex creatures with special anatomical, physiological and ethological needs. A lack of or inadequate knowledge in the areas of husbandry, feeding, health or behavior can lead to chronic illnesses, incorrect strain, stress, behavioral problems or animal welfare issues. A basic course provides the necessary knowledge to avoid such mistakes.
In addition, sound specialist knowledge contributes significantly to the health and longevity of the horse. Knowledge of anatomy, hoof science and early signs of illness make it possible to recognize problems in good time and act appropriately. First aid content also increases confidence in dealing with emergencies.
Anyone who keeps, rides or looks after a horse has a duty to know and respect its needs. A basic training course creates a sound professional basis for this and supports responsible, appropriate and sustainable handling of the horse. This offer is aimed at everyone! You never stop learning and there is always something you don't know. The topics are derived from the contents of the certificate of competence according to paragraph 11 TierSchG.
