A strong-willed, sensitive Friesian mix mare - It is with a heavy heart that I am looking for a suitable new home for my 19-year-old Friesian mix mare, Anna, who stands approximately 1.65 m tall.
Anna is a beautiful, strong-willed, and sensitive mare who needs a human to bond with. She is not a horse for beginners and is specifically looking for a very experienced, calm, and confident horse person.
As a leisure horse, Anna has many wonderful qualities. She enjoys trail riding, is brave, and loves water and swimming. She also enjoys small jumps. She’s a rock of confidence on the trail and loves long rides lasting several hours, preferably with another horse lover. She’s familiar with lunging, dressage, free work, riding bareback, and riding without a bridle—all of which are no problem. Hoof care and vet visits are also handled without issue. Depending on how she responds and is assessed, I could also envision her as a companion horse.
Anna has a very strong personality and knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn’t want, which can lead to discussions that require a lot of patience. For this reason, she’s only available to truly experienced owners who can handle such strong-willed yet very sensitive horses and are willing to work with her.
Due to past negative experiences, loading her is difficult. A home in the immediate area would therefore be ideal and would make many things much easier.
My goal is not to sell Anna as quickly or for as much money as possible. I want to find a home where she is understood, where she’ll be handled safely, and where she can stay for the long term.
The right home and the right person clearly take priority over price.
