After much consideration, we are selling our Quinn. Unfortunately, as a riding school, we cannot offer him what he needs—a primary handler. He is trained in both English and Western styles. After we purchased him, we rode him in the English style and continued his training in that direction. With his riding partner, he gained his first experiences in the bush and was also entered by her in E and A classes at competitions, both in dressage and show jumping. Over the course of the season, he became so confident that he was able to accompany his riding partner to her Trainer C course. On trail rides, he moves forward diligently and can be ridden in any position.
Quinn was also trained in vaulting with us and impressed at last year’s recreational sports day. With his vaulting coach, he has already successfully participated in lunging and double-lunging courses. He especially loves being groomed and pampered by small children.
Unfortunately, however, we must be fair not only to ourselves but also to him—and we’re increasingly getting the impression that he isn’t happy with the constant change in people around him. This is evident in the fact that he remains focused during training with his two main trainers—his riding instructor and vaulting trainer—and continues to make steady progress. With our riding students, especially in the winter, he shows a talent for immediately recognizing and exploiting their weaknesses. We’re looking for an ambitious, confident, and steady rider for our Quinn who can give him the security he needs. A varied training routine is important for Quinn. We don’t see him as a horse suited for an open stable, but he still needs daily paddock time. He gets along very well with geldings, and a small group of young male horses in a paddock would be ideal for him.
We purchased Quinn back then when he already had thrush. With good care and clean bedding, it can be kept well under control.
We are not placing Quinn as a riding school or vaulting horse. Quinn is regularly vaccinated, dewormed, and is comfortable with the farrier and loading. He does not have a current AKU certificate. A trial ride and introductory session cost €25, which will be credited toward the purchase price. A video will be available shortly upon request. Price negotiable.
