3 Horses in distress - Switzerland - For sale together Freiberger gelding Heiko, born 2004, 152 cm Franches-Montagnes mare Hira, born 2011, 150 cm Franconian mare Nora, born 2003, 154 cm Location: Schönenberg Our volunteer Kathrin visited the owner and the 3 horses. Adverse circumstances have forced her to give up the 3 horses. As they have always been together, she would like to give them away together. She would also be prepared to bear some of the costs. Our volunteer writes: My visit to Nora, Heiko and Hira's stable falls on a beautiful spring day and I meet three alert, curious and very well-groomed Freiberger horses. Nora and Heiko are a bit older (22 & 21 years) but in top shape, healthy and motivated to work according to their age. The youngest, Hira, is 14 years old and Nora's daughter. She is also in great shape, healthy and full of positive energy. She has had linear keratosis on her ganache since birth, hence the black eye on the left. This disease does not bother the horse and does not need to be treated. The owner will be happy to provide further information on request. The three horses have lived as a small herd for 18 and 14 years respectively and it is very important to the owner that they can stay together. They are exercised, ridden or harnessed every day and love being around people. They are very familiar with children, people with disabilities and even dogs and would make perfect therapy horses. I noticed several times during my visit that they are very well behaved; they respond to commands and body language without hesitation. They know ground work according to Pat Parelli and are easy to load and shoe. All the horses are regularly vaccinated, wormed and have their teeth trimmed. During my visit, the owner has a brief conversation with the vet and hands me the phone to reassure me that these horses are in good health. The horses are handed over with a protection contract and for a nominal fee, suitable accessories such as saddle (English), bridle, own grooming kit and rain blanket. Furthermore, the harnesses, Bündner and English, can also be taken over, as well as a covered wagon. The owner understandably finds the decision to part with the horses extremely difficult, but personal circumstances and new lease conditions at the stables leave her no other choice. Her wish is for the horses to stay together and make other people happy in a new place. That they can continue to perform tasks appropriate to their age and abilities and use their talents. Ideally, the horses should be moved within the next 3-6 months. Who can help to ensure that these 3 great horses can stay together? Please contact us via PN or email verein.pferdeinnot@gmail.com
